At the beginning of 1995, the Board of the Tartu Family Radio decided to begin four-hour test broadcasts once a week. The broadcasts took place since 7 February 1995, on Tuesday evenings from 6 to 11 p. m. Many a test broadcast has developed into a years-long broadcast series by now. With a feeling of risk caused by illegality, the tests went on until June 1995.
