1996

Supported by good weather the work made good headway. On August 2, 1996, the festive opening and dedication ceremony of both the mast, the transmitter, and the rooms was held. One of the "cooks", Lettie-June Blanchard, pushed the launch knob of the new and powerful transmitter, making the Tartu Family Radio audible over an unbelievably extensive territory. A stable reception was now guaranteed up to 100 km from Tartu. All that was so wonderful and encouraging, though it laid a heavier burden of responsibility on the radio workers. A local radio station had been transformed into a regional one.
