The year 1999 again entered a number of new programs into the list of broadcasts of the Tartu Family Radio. This was primarily enabled by support from the state. In addition to the programs “Maarahva hommik” [Country People’s Morning], which was introduced as early as from the end of 1998 through the support of the Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Estonia and the Environmental Foundation, and “Käies looduse radu” [Treading Nature’s Paths], which deals with issues concerning nature, we have launched the Friday radiocast “Õhtukohv” [The Evening Coffee], which is financed by the gambling tax and aimed at the elderly, as well as the programs “Särasilm” [The Sparkling Eye] and “Elu on elamist väärt” [Life Is Worth Living], both financed by the Tartu County Government and the Ministry of Social Affairs of the Republic of Estonia. As a voluntary effort, Mare Pihlak, Hillar Peets, and Marika Kusnets have started a broadcast on health care matters, “Tervist” [Health (to You)]. They are still looking for a sponsor for it.
