September again introduced technical innovations at the Tartu Family Radio. The continuing cooperation with the telecommunications corporation “AS Ritabell” revived the relay station for the transmission of the 88.9 MHz signal in Rakvere that had stopped functioning due to a failure in February. The spire of the Viru Jaagupi Church had exhausted itself as a radio mast. The range of its transmitter was small and the risk of failures from high humidity great. The intermediate station in the Väike-Maarja Church was in the same plight. The main transmitter in Rakvere received a new “home” at the base station of the mobile phone firm Q-GSM in the settlement of Pada in the commune of Viru-Nigula. Thus the broadcasts of the Tartu Family Radio can be received over a large part of the counties of Lääne-Viru and Ida-Viru. The Laiuse base station run by the same firm became the intermediate station for the transmission of the signal from Tartu. Although the distance from Laiuse to Pada is 87 km thus making it unlikely to maintain a stable and high-quality communication line between them it functions well by the grace of our Heavenly Father. It is He who had formed the landscape profile in this part of Estonia in the very way that enabled this technical miracle.
