The end of the year brought a number of pleasant surprises, among them the first official acknowledgment inside Estonia. On November 23, 1999, Mare and Paavo Pihlak attended the Synod of the EELC to receive a certificate of honor for Christian radio work from the Council of Publication of the EELC. Alongside the Tartu Family Radio the certificate of honor was also awarded to the Christian Television.
